Mr. John Calder, Samuel Becket’s English publisher and the publisher of numerous other major writers asked

me, in 2003, to design the set of Waiting for Godot for his newly formed London theater group, the Godot

Company. I also designed the set for the company’s production of Play in 2006. I remain associated with the

company and co-hosted an evening with Mr. Calder last spring for the venerable Chelsea Art Club.
