Oil on canvas
Electrical storm is a medical term used to describe uncontrollable ventricle tachycardia. My painting truly follows my heart. On August 1st, 2015, I was struck by an electrical storm — the first of many. Over the years, I walked the edge of that zone between life and death.
This series show what that no-zone feels like. From the base of the canvas, a single head releases distorted, twisted faces that disintegrate as they flow upwards and disappear in swirling brush strokes. The idea of a vertical format was inspired from Japanese ink paintings. Compositional direction rises from the bottom.
